Batman welcomes a other lead writer and creative person in December
DC has named the incoming writer of its flagship comic record title Batman, and its person DC fans know quite well: Josue Williamson.
"I'm writing Batman!" Williamson tweets. "A Batman leaves Gotham, I'm starting a new storyline called 'Abyss' drawn by the awesome Jorge Molina."
For 'Abyss', Molina will be paired with veteran Batman colorist Tomeu Morey. The letterer who will join them has not been confirmed.
Williamson makes it a point to bank bill "the oval is back," referring to the yellow elliptic version of the Batman emblem that recently reappeared in Tec Comics.
"We're honoring the plan that the other books in the flutter-line are doing spell telling a marque-new story for Bruce Wayne as Batman in the DCU," Williamson continues.
Williamson has created a new villain titled Abyss (yes, as in the championship of the story-arc), who you can control on Molina's cover for Batman #119. The villain will debut in Batman #118, even so.
"The bat is out of the old bag!!! I've been waiting to doh Batman all my career and straight off it's the time," Molina tweets. "Teaming up with the amazingly talented [Book of Joshua Williamson] happening this exciting mount where we'll research untried adventures for the Dark Knight while delivery a classic feel to it."
Batman aggroup editor in chief Ben Abernathy adds to this, tweeting that the final page of Batman #118 is "shockingly fun!"
Williamson, who has already become the de facto lead author at DC, adds Batman to an already busy portfolio of two monthly ongoings in Robin and Deathstroke Inc., along with the event series Infinite Frontier, and the limited series Future Nation: Gotham (with co-author Dennis Culver) and Justice Conference Incarnate (also with Culver). Outside of D.C., he is likewise client-writing The Achromatic Coin #6.
This wish technically represent Williamson's second stint along Batman, after co-writing 2017's Batman #21 and #22 with Tom Male monarch as part of 'The Button' crossing with his The Flash run.
Williamson takes complete DC's Batman title after current series writer Saint James Tynion IV announced on August 8 that he decided to leave the title in order to focus more on his creator-closely-held crop.
Arsenic part of this, DC will be slowing out the release schedule of Batman (at to the lowest degree temporarily), going from twice-monthly to once time unit.
Batman #118 goes on sale this December.
Keep track of this and all the new Batman comics , vivid novels, and collections in 2021 and beyond.
